Gelila Getaneh is a public policy professional, event planner turned parenthood blogger. Ye Kenfe Lij is not just another online mommy and me meetup. She created this platform specifically for moms and dads of color to experience authentic dialogue, contribute their parenting expertise, and (most importantly) create a global community of parents who can genuinely share in each other's triumphs as well as trials. Here’s the kicker: this is not web based only! In addition to stories and testimonials from Black parents, there are opportunities to connect offline. Ye Kenfe Lij pop-up events aim to strengthen our bonds with local, like-minded parents and provide a fun break from our normal routines.

It is no secret that we are better together. United, we face life with our heads held high with a commitment to ensuring that our beautiful Black children are well-positioned to thrive. We speak candidly on hard topics, understanding that when one hurts, we all hurt. And when one wins, we all win! More than an online forum, Ye Kenfe Lij is a community that soon becomes family near and far.
